Preveza is a city and port of Epirus, at its southern end, at the entrance to the Amvrakikos Gulf.
It is built on the northern side of the prefecture of Preveza, which connects the Amvrakikos bay with the Ionian Sea. Opposite it, there is the cape of Aktio Aitoloakarnania, which is connected via an underwater tunnel.
